Kalalau Trail, Hawaii, USA December 2015

Aloha!

I have just returned from another brief escape – this time to hike the Kalalau Trail on Kauai Island in Hawaii. I am determined that a pair of hiking boots will take me to see the most amazing landscapes in the world.

The lush Napali coastline of Kauai Island needs no introduction to many of you – it was the backdrop to the otherworldly Jurassic Park.

The Kalalau Trail traces 22 miles return along the coastline skirting below razor peaks and fluted cliffs. The track picks its way through lush forest and coastal shrubbery while clinging to cliffs which drop away to pounding surf below. The landscape is shaped by the powerful ocean swells and wind and the coastline shimmers in a silvery haze of seaspray. The land is raw and beautiful so journey with me through the images of the Kalalau Trail. https://walkaboutagain.com/?page_id=1717
